IBEC has a long-standing tradition in the domains of computational neuroscience, cognitive science and interactive systems. The work of IBEC focuses on the biological principles underlying perception, cognition and behaviour is provided by the Distributed Adaptive Control (DAC) architecture (Verschure et al. 1992, Voegtlin & Verschure 1999, Verschure & Althaus 2003, Verschure et al. 2003, Duff et al. 2010). IBEC’s experience in cognitive architecture will contribute to the development of a cognitive architecture for rehabilitation routines and assisting ADL tasks and digital user twin. In addition, IBEC’s extensive research in rehabilitation methods has led to the development and deployment of a science-based treatment for effective recovery after brain damage, namely the Rehabilitation Gaming System (RGS). This experience will contribute to the development of interaction scenarios for the ReHyB project and the adaptive serious gaming interface.
